Classroom Tour

I am so excited for (1) my first blog post and (2) to be linking up with Lucky Little Learners and Schroeder Shenanigans in 2nd for this month's #2getherwearebetter linky.  This month's theme is classroom reveals!!

Here is a tour of my side of the room - I am lucky enough to share a classroom with the best roommate ever!  We are both Instructional Specialists and see small groups throughout the day.

Getting this post ready was great motivation to reorganize!  Here is a before and after:

I will start to the left of the door and work my way around the room!

To divide the room in half we have some bookshelves and filing cabinets.  Starting from the left, I turned a bookshelf around so that I could hide my junk use the back as an extra display area.  The show what you know speech bubbles are a place where students can use a post it note as an exit ticket.  The library pockets underneath are where students keep their punch cards.  Each group has their own library pocket.  The filing cabinets holds all of the materials for one of the reading interventions that we use.  The bookshelf on the right is double sided!!  There is a better pic below:

I keep more reading intervention/materials on this shelf as well.  There isn't usually a blank space on the re-organization is not complete!

The windowsill is where I keep all of my small group materials.  Each plastic bin will be labeled by group and inside will be everything they need (book, workbooks, journals, etc.).  This area has some new things this year!  A teacher toolbox and some great new posters.  The teacher toolbox labels can be found here and the mindset posters are from The Blessed Teacher. The mindset posters are behind my reading table and next to my desk!

I am obsessed with pencil buntings at the moment!  I am also obsessed with these strategy posters.  I finally decided to make my own and I love the way they turned out!  You can get them here!  Moving on with the tour...

Now we have made a full circle!  This is the view to the right of the door.  More book storage!  I was inspired by Lessons with Laughter's library organization so I downloaded her labels and started organizing!

Thank you so much for taking the virtual tour!  I hope that you enjoyed it!  There is more to do, but I still have 6 more days...I do my best work at the last minute!!  Be sure to check out some of the other classroom reveals!

  1. Super classroom and true story, the pencil bunting "strategies" sign made me swoon :)
