These days I am all about working smarter, not harder. I will share 5 free Chrome extensions every teacher needs to simplify their digital life!
1 Fullscreen Interactive Google Slides(TM)
I LOVE Google Slides! It is a great tool to transform your lessons and make them more engaging. The only drawback is that interacting with slides in presentation mode could be better.
Enter Fullscreen Interactive Google Slides(TM). This Chrome extension allows you to edit and manipulate objects in full-screen mode.

2. Sir Links-A-Lot
Sharing Google resources with teammates and students can sometimes be challenging, but not with Sir Links-A-Lot! One-click will turn your Google Docs and Google Slides into an easily shareable template, preview, or PDF. My favorite is the Force a Copy option. Just like it sounds, this option will force whoever opens the Slides or Doc to make their own copy, so your original will remain intact!

3. Screencastify - Screen Video Recorder
Over the past year, I have made enough screen recordings to last a lifetime. I have recorded student directions for Seesaw activities, distance learning activities, parent overviews, tutorials, and so on!
Screencastify is easy to use and has both a free and paid version. It allows you to record your screen, edit recordings, and easily share the end result. Bonus - they have helpful tips and tricks on their website.
4. Mote: voice notes & feedback
Mote is another tool I learned about through distance learning, but I will continue to use it regularly with my students! This extension can be used with Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, Forms, Classroom, and Gmail!
Mote allows you to record your voice which is a valuable way to provide feedback for your students via Slides, Docs, and/or Google Classroom. Allowing students to listen to directions or hear a question read to them can create more independence for in-person learning and make sure that content is accessible to all students.
5. GIPHY
Last but not least, GIPHY. This allows you to easily add gifs to Google Docs or Slides. I love to use gifs when reviewing vocabulary before reading a passage; it is a great way to build background knowledge on a topic. There is a wide variety of gifs (funny, cute, realistic). I also use them to set an objective before reading.
I hope you will find these Chrome extensions as helpful as mine. Let me know in the comments if you have a favorite that did not make the list!
